Jim prosecutes patent applications in fields of robotics, industrial machinery, filters, furniture, and the like, for multiple Applicants located in Europe and Asia. He also has prosecuted patent applications in mechanical and electro-mechanical fields, particularly in the field of medical products on behalf of surgeons and medical product corporations. In addition to writing and prosecuting patent applications, Jim has written and often writes infringement, validity, and freedom to operate opinions. He has provided training to junior US attorneys and clients in areas of U.S. patent law, and litigated patent infringement cases, focusing primarily on mechanical and electro-mechanical technologies. Moreover, he has supervised a team of 10 -20 associate attorneys performing all of the intellectual property and related work on behalf of a major Japanese automobile corporation.
